There's a virtual sea of the crunchy-granola types in Athens, which is why I LOVE it!! Best way to get the scoop on everything in the Classic City is to hit www.flagpole.com. This is our local free underground paper, that has everything from the music scene to want ads. You'll probably get some housing ideas there. For more formal stuff, hit www.onlineathens.com, which is the Athens newspaper. You'd need to do a free registration to get logged on, but there's lotsa stuff there. Once here, you'll find great places. If you're into yoga and herbal medicines, check in with Meghan at The Healing Arts Centre on Prince Avenue. She is the center of the Peace universe around here as far as I'm concerned. Good places to hang out are usually the west side of downtown. There's a few bars like The Manhattan and Room 13, a coffee place called Hot Corner, and a wonderful organic fine-dining restaurant called Farm 255. But Athens is crawling with amazing people!
